Note: You must be a System Administrator to create a new mobile app User under your account. If you are not a System Administrator you will need to contact one in your company to create a new User or to upgrade your User permissions.
Follow the below steps to quickly and easily create a new mobile app User.
- Proceed to Users
- Select the Mobile User from the User Type drop-down menu (See also FAQ: What are the Application User Type permission definitions?)
- Complete the User Details
- First Name and Last Name
- Select the Group for the User;
- All Assets will enable the User to see all Assets under your Account
- By selecting a specific Group you will restrict the Users account to only have visibility over that Group
- Assign any Tags
- Complete the Login Details;
- Email/Username
- Password – Note: leaving the Password field blank will result in a system-generated password (recommended)
- Asset Label – Note: When the mobile app user logs into Driver application for the first time a new Asset will be created under your account. If you have left the Asset Label field blank, the User name will be auto-populated as the Asset Label
- Mobile under Welcome Notification will have been auto-selected when you set the User Type to Mobile User. Input the Users mobile number in the Mobile No. field to ensure they receive the Welcome SMS with a link to download Driver mobile app
- Click the Create button to create the new User
- Once you have created the user an Email and SMS will be sent to them included a link to download the appropriate version of the Driver mobile app (Android or iOS) and to set their new password
- You will now be redirected to the new User screen for the user you have created
